Overview
EV Cargo's supply chain management software, LIMA, is a enterprise application that supports complex end-to-end logistics operations. Comprising more than 50 specialised tools and workflows, it serves customers across every stage of the supply chain lifecycle.
As the company embarked on a major transformation from a legacy single-tenant architecture to a modern cloud-based platform, it became clear that rebuilding the entire platform would take several years.
To maintain continuity during the transition, the business needed a unified entry point that could bring the ecosystem together without disrupting existing workflows.
As the sole designer, I designed EV Cargo One, the central application launcher that provides users with a consistent, branded experience. Acting as the front door to the platform, it simplifies navigation across the entire ecosystem while supporting the gradual evolution from legacy to modern applications.

The Design
A structured app launcher
The home screen organises all the tools into clearly labelled categories. Each tool is represented as a tile with a distinct icon, replacing LIMA's flat text lists with a scannable, visually structured layout.
Expandable categories
Categories can be expanded to reveal their full list of tools, keeping the default home screen clean and uncluttered. This also future-proofs the layout as new apps can be added to existing categories without disrupting the overall structure or overwhelming users.
Favourites
A Favourites strip at the top of the screen lets users pin their most-used tools for instant access. The pin and unpin interaction is lightweight and discoverable, appearing on hover so it stays out of the way until needed.
All apps view
A dedicated All Apps screen presents the complete tool catalogue in a full-width grid, grouped by category, giving users a comprehensive overview of everything available.
Bridging old and new
The central app launcher holds the entire ecosystem together and gives users a consistent experience regardless of where each tool is in its development journey. Some tools are newly built; others redirect the user seamlessly to the relevant LIMA page during the transition.

Now
This unified app launcher consolidates all of LIMA's tools into a single, structured entry point. The goal wasn't just to modernise the navigation; it was to create a stable foundation that could accommodate a rolling, progressive rollout. Whether a user lands on a newly built standalone app or gets redirected to a legacy LIMA tool in the interim, the experience feels intentional and consistent.
The design is finalised after several iterations and being shaped by stakeholder workshops and cross-team feedback sessions. Development is ongoing.
